For the execution of stratigraphic or pipe inspection , the Geonautics Srl exploit a sub bottom profiler model Syquest bathy2010Pc with chirp technology .This technique is already widely used for archaeological analysis in Sicily and in pre-lay analysis in offshore areas . The system consists of 2 + 2 mass transducers at 3.5 kHz that can be installed on a fence or on a special catamaran. The system, based on the geological nature of the seabed, also allows penetration of 40 m below the seabed. For analysis that require greater penetration (at the expense of vertical resolution), we make use of a system Sparker last generation.
